And They're Off...

Despite the rain and crispy weather, the stars got all glammed up in fabulous attire (reds, greens, pinks, and blacks were popular choices) and the red carpet sparkled with millions in, for the most part, borrowed jewelry as Oscar celebrated its 80th birthday. Did you miss out on all the interviews from the red carpet? If so, here's a short and sweet recap of what you missed: "I'm so honored to be nominated," followed by, "It's just incredible to be a part of..." Then there were the stars who claimed to be nervous, to be there to see others win and not themselves, and who spent one last time explaining why they were drawn to the roles that got them nominated. For those who listen in on the Oscars just to find out where actors stand on political issues, Julie Christie let it be known she strongly supports closing down Guantanamo. There you have it. That's pretty much all you missed, you lucky people!
